If you’ve done it before you’ll probably know what to do on the first day but if it’s your first time you may be a little nervous.  Don’t be!  It’s all great fun and our team will be at the start and finish to help you on your way.  If you are coming on foot or tram then make sure you set out in time to complete the course and get back to work before someone tells you off.  If you are driving there is free street parking up to 8am but parking is also available in the Torrens Parade Ground opposite the start during the following hours only:

  • 6am to 8am (out by 8.30am)
  • 11.30am to 1.30pm (out by 2pm)
  • 4pm to 6.30pm (out by 7pm)

Toilet facilities are available at Jolley’s off Victoria Drive and at Next Generation just flash your ID race card. Sorry, no showers are available.

Make sure you have secured your timing card to you shirt or shorts before you arrive and don’t rely on us to have string/safety pins/superglue!  Do not put it in a holder with your work ID card as it may not be detected on the scanner. If you lose or forget your card, there are limited temporary cards available at the admin tent.

When you arrive feel free to say hello but otherwise proceed to the start line walking at least 1 metre behind the person in front of you and listen for the ‘beep’ sound as you proceed through. You need to know where you are going so please make sure you understand the 2.2, 4.5 and 7.2 courses. (click on the distance to bring up a PDF copy of the course.)

When you finish just walk/run through and listen for the ‘beep.’ If you don’t hear anything wave your card to make sure it registers. You can check your time on the screen in the Brooks tent. If for any reason the card fails to scan, keep an eye on the clock or your watch as you start and finish purely as a backup. Go to the Admin tent and report your time but be aware that we always regard the time recorded on the timing system as your actual run time.

If you are unable to start on day one this does not matter because your base time will be set when you do your first run. However, please do not run with some else’s card.

For your health and safety, sports trainers will be on hand at the start/finish areas during the busiest times in the morning, lunchtime and after work. As you can appreciate we cannot cover the whole course so watch out for your fellow participants. If you have a mobile don’t hesitate to call 0417 237902 or an ambulance if the person is in difficulty. Please report all incidents to the organisers. Please ensure you are fit to participate and seek medical advice if you are unsure. Make sure you are well hydrated prior to and during the event and be aware you are a pedestrian on a public pathway – please respect others on that pathway. If you are bringing your dog they must be kept on a leash.

Water is available at the start/finish areas and at the University Bridge northern side (11am to 1.30pm only) and Nippy’s juice will be available at the start /finish areas only.
