The Management of Alinta Energy was looking to provide a community event to coincide with a Careers Fair to support employees and their families facing redundancy in Leigh Creek. The desired outcome was to bring the community together so families could have some fun in a safe and alcohol free environment. Alinta approached Enventive because of our experience in community events and our reputation for end to end event management. Our non-profit status and pricing structure certainly helped as well!
It was a great day and we brought the community together and created goodwill through firstly running a “Life Games” programme at the Leigh Creek Area School in the morning. This gave all the children in the community a taste of the event to come in the afternoon, and ensured that parents came under some pressure from their children to attend. Out of a total town population of 450 we had over 400 attending.
The atmosphere created was truly one of community and participation. Our friendly and approachable staff went out of their way to engage with the community in a positive way. The children in particular had a great time which in turn gave the parents some quality time at the Careers stalls. It was great to see the children playing ‘Life. Be in it’ games, climbing the wall, burning off energy in the Jurassic Park Castle, and leaping into the spider’s web.
Enventive managed this event seamlessly with the community and, as we say, took on the complexity of event management and made it look easy. Feedback from employees and families has been fantastic and we were delighted when Alinta Energy fed back that we have added value to their change processes and brought our community together for a very positive experience.
