Dragon Boat World Championships 2016 to be held in Adelaide

From 23rd March 2016 to 7th April 2016, Adelaide will come alive with colour, energy and atmosphere when the Australian, Asian and World Dragon Boat Championships come to town. The regattas will be held at the A.M. Ramsay Regatta Course (100 Military Road, West Lakes Shore, South Australia).

Australian Dragon Boat Championships – 23 March to 28 March 2016

The Australian Dragon Boat Club Championships involves clubs from around Australia. Australian club crews will also race New Zealand club crews for the Trans-Tasman Championship in conjunction with this event.

Oceania Dragon Boat Championship – 26 March 2016

The Oceania Dragon Boat Championships are contested by representative crews from Oceania; being the eight Australian states and territories, New Zealand regions and other member nations of the Oceania Dragon Boat Federation. Distances contested are 200m and 500m in Standard and Small Boats.

Asian Dragon Boat Championships 29 March to 31 March 2016

The Asian Dragon Boat Championships are contested by members of the Asian Dragon Boat Foundation.

Club Crew World Championships – 1 April to 7 April 2016

The big event comes to a close when clubs from all over the world compete against each other in the world championships.

Get into the spirit and try Dragon Boat racing in February and March before the championships begin. It is a great opportunity to try something new, develop team building skills, increase fitness and have fun! Once you have tried it for yourself you can be a spectator for the wonderful world champs.
